Hello all!
My name is Jennifer Venancio; I study World Languages
Education and Spanish. I am currently a junior and would describe myself as an
outgoing, caring and joyful person. In the future I would love to teach in
a Spanish speaking country, and in an urban school setting. I enjoy shopping,
reading and hiking. My favorite books to read are Spanish literature novels; I
think it’s extremely interesting how authors used current events, political and
social issues to write their novels. I enjoy learning about Spanish history,
culture and authors’ perspectives through fiction. Recently, I studied abroad
in Peru for a semester and had the opportunity to hike through the Andes, and
climb Machu Picchu. It has been one of the best experiences of my life, and I
can’t wait to become a Spanish teacher to promote foreign languages and to
teach others about how great the world and traveling is!
I've always wanted to go to Machu Picchu! I can only imagine how amazing it must have been. I've heard that students always have a great experience studying abroad, I hope to one day too.
ReplyDeleteWow! That's an awesome photo. Let's taco 'bout Spanish and Education indeed! Curious if you have visited many of the Mexican restaurants in Milwaukee and if you have any opinions on which are the most authentic - Taqueria Arandas is my favorite. I also like Café Corazon, which is right down the street from me, but I suspect it is less authentic than some of the others. Looking forward to your posts!
ReplyDeleteLet's Taco 'bout Spanish and Education, that is just too clever and I love it!
ReplyDeleteIt's so awesome that you've gotten to do that traveling and really hear briefly about how that's affected your teaching philosophy and goals.
I just went abroad last Summer too! I went to the UK for two weeks and it really changes your life. So worth it! I really think getting to see the world is beneficial for a future teacher.
ReplyDeleteHi Jennifer!
ReplyDeleteI love the photo you provided! It looks like you had a really great time in Peru. I haven't had the opportunity to go abroad yet, but I hope to go to the Art and Design trip to Florence eventually. I think it is really incredible what you hope to do with your degree. I can't wait to read more about your adventures.
What an amazing photo ... the fog is majestic!
